Facer Creator’s Rosetta Stone system powers the new era of multi‑platform watch face publishing. This article explains what Rosetta Stone is, how it supports Google’s Watch Face Format (WFF) and other platforms, and how to interpret the new compatibility levels you’ll see in Facer Creator.
What is Rosetta Stone?
Rosetta Stone is Facer’s new cross‑platform compatibility system. It’s designed to help you publish a single watch face design across multiple smartwatch platforms — including WearOS (WFF), Apple Watch, Samsung Tizen, and VEE Wear — with minimal extra work.
Unifies platform differences: Automatically adapts your designs so you don’t need to manage them separately for each platform.
Surfaces compatibility status: Shows whether your design will behave consistently on each platform, and flags areas where adjustments may be needed.
Enables future expansion: Built to add support for upcoming platforms without requiring you to redesign your existing catalog.
Compatibility Levels in Rosetta Stone
To make platform differences clear, Rosetta Stone uses four compatibility levels. These appear in two key places in Facer Creator:
Canvas view (design editor) – via the new compatibility dropdown.
Publishing screen – when reviewing your watch face before publishing.
Levels explained
OK
No compatibility issues for the platform.
Your design should appear and behave as expected.
NOTICE
Minor compatibility differences detected.
Negligible impact on design or user experience; no action required, but you may want to review.
WARNING
Compatibility issues present that affect the design.
Requires either designer override or adjustments to resolve. You can publish with warnings, but test carefully.
ERROR
Major compatibility issues that block publishing on the platform.
Cannot be overridden; must be fixed before publishing.
